CurrentMM Literary Representation
A representation partner for authors and creators with something real to say.
The Problem
You have the message. You have the platform. You don't know how publishing works.
Most authors spend years trying to figure out the difference between a proposal and a manuscript, what an advance actually means, and why publishers keep passing on books that deserve to exist. By the time they figure it out, they have wasted time, signed bad deals, or settled for self-publishing when a major publisher was actually within reach.
That is the gap CurrentMM fills.
What We Do
CurrentMM is a literary agency representing authors, creators, and thought leaders across faith, mainstream, and bilingual markets.
We are not a book coach. We are not a ghostwriting service. We are not a vanity press with a nice website.
We represent authors the way a music manager represents artists. We shape the project, build the proposal, pitch the publishers, negotiate the deal, oversee the marketing, and stay in the room through production, launch, and what comes next.
15% commission on traditional publishing deals. No upfront fees. We only get paid when you do.
Who we work with
We work with authors who already have something.
A platform. Doesn't have to be massive, but it has to be real.
A message that connects to a specific audience.
A story, framework, or body of work worth putting on paper.
The discipline to see a project through.
We do not develop ideas from scratch. We do not work with authors who want someone else to write their book. We work with people who have something to say and need a partner who knows how to get it in front of the right publishers.
If you are not ready to write, we are not the right fit yet. If you have the message and need the architecture, this is exactly what we do.
the process
DISCOVER One conversation. You share what you are working on. I tell you whether there is a publishable book in it and what it would take to get there.
DEVELOP We shape the idea into a proposal. That means positioning, audience, competitive analysis, chapter outline, and sample chapters. Publishers buy proposals, not manuscripts. Getting this right is the whole game.
PITCH I submit to publishers I already have relationships with. Not cold queries. Not a mass blast. Targeted submissions to the right editors at the right houses based on your specific book.
NEGOTIATE When an offer comes in, I negotiate it. Advance, royalties, subsidiary rights, translation rights, audio, film, and TV options. You make the final call. I make sure you understand what you are signing.
DELIVER Once the deal is signed, the work starts. I stay involved through manuscript delivery, production, and launch planning. The goal is not just a book deal. It is a book that sells.
EXPAND If the book connects, we build on it. Courses, curriculum, speaking, translations, and follow-up books. One book is a start. A library is a legacy.
Proof of concept
Authors with platforms do not automatically get book deals. Publishers want a platform and a proposal that proves the book will sell.
CurrentMM has active projects across memoir, inspirational nonfiction, faith-based business, and bilingual titles targeting the US Latino market.
We know which editors buy which books.
We know how to frame a proposal for the market it is going into.
That knowledge is the difference between a rejection and an offer.
what you get
Every author CurrentMM represents gets:
Full proposal development from concept to submission-ready document
Targeted publisher submissions based on category, market, and editorial relationships
Deal negotiation across advances, royalties, and subsidiary rights
Bilingual market strategy for authors targeting English and Spanish audiences
Production and launch support through delivery
Long-term career planning beyond the first book
We represent your work the way it deserves.
How we get paid
TRADITIONAL PUBLISHING 15% commission on your advance and royalties. No upfront fees. The commission comes from your share of the deal, not theirs. If we do not place your book, you owe us nothing.
CONSULTING ENGAGEMENT For authors who want development support outside of traditional publishing, self-publishing strategy, platform building, or proposal development without full representation, we offer a flat-fee consulting structure. Scope and fees are determined in the initial conversation.
Every engagement starts with a conversation to figure out which structure fits your project.

This is not a coaching program. This is a business partner who has been in the room when publishing deals get made.
Is this right for you
CurrentMM is not for everyone. I work with a small number of authors at a time, so each project gets real attention.
You are a fit if you are:
A creator, leader, or public figure with a message and a platform
An author with a completed or nearly-completed proposal who needs a negotiating partner
A faith-adjacent or Latino voice trying to reach a mainstream publisher
Someone who wants a career in books, not just one book
You are not a fit if you are:
Looking for someone to write your book for you
Not ready to commit to the process of developing a real proposal
Expecting a deal without a platform to support it
Looking for a coach or a cheerleader
Every engagement starts with a conversation. Reach out at email@currentmm.com.

The message is there. The audience is there. The book is not.
That is where we come in.
